The button-up blouse is the classic-style blouse. The cut is derived from the men’s shirt. In addition to a shirt collar and long sleeves, the blouse always has cuffs. The button-up blouse can have a straight, or a tailored cut, or form-fitting dividing seams and bust dart that accentuate a feminine figure. Some shirts have a yoke on the upper back. Despite the close resemblance to a men’s shirt, a women’s button-up blouse always has the buttons on the left side. It may have one or two front breast pockets.
