Providing this additional information is optional.

Non-personal data

The GERRY WEBER sites use cookies, web beacons and other technologies for data analysis and personalisation services.

Cookies

GERRY WEBER may use third-party media companies to place ads for GERRY WEBER products or services on other companies' websites. If you have accessed a website on which GERRY WEBER advertisements appear, the relevant online media company may place a cookie or web beacon on your computer. This enables the online media company to recognise the computer if the site is accessed again using that computer or to specify how advertising campaigns reach users. This data is anonymous and is not linked to personal data on the user's computer or with a GERRY WEBER database. Some GERRY WEBER newsletters provided by online media companies on behalf of GERRY WEBER use the same technology. In both cases, this data may also be used by the online media company to determine the interest and importance of ads and content to the user. GERRY WEBER has no access to data collected by the online media company. To prevent online media companies from placing cookies on your computer, you must visit the websites of the individual media companies and remove the cookies as directed, or adjust the cookie filter according to your browser settings.

A "cookie" is a small data file that is transferred from a website to the hard drive of your computer. GERRY WEBER sends cookies when you visit our website, make purchases, request or personalise information or register for certain services. If you accept the cookies used on our website, we will not have access to your personal data but we can use cookies to identify your computer. The distinction is generally made between "session" and "persistent" cookies.

"Session" cookies do not stay on your computer once you leave our website or close your browser. We can use the information gathered to analyse traffic patterns and structures on our website. That way, we can continue to optimise our website by improving its content or personalisation and making it easier to use.

"Persistent" cookies are those that remain on your computer. They are used to facilitate shopping, personalisation and registration services. Example, cookies can keep track of what you have selected to purchase as you continue to shop. You also only need to enter your password once on websites where a login is required. "Persistent" cookies can be manually removed by the user.

Most browsers accept cookies by default. However, you can usually refuse or selectively accept certain cookies by adjusting your browser settings accordingly. If you disable cookies, some features may not be available on our website and some web pages may not display correctly.

Web beacons

Some GERRY WEBER websites and e-mail newsletters in HTML format use web beacons in conjunction with cookies to create aggregate statistics about website usage. A web beacon is an electronic, invisible image, also known as a single-pixel or clear GIF. Web beacons can recognise certain types of information on a visitor's computer, such as a visitor's cookie number, the time and date a page is viewed and a description of the page on which the web beacon is located. You can make some web beacons unusable by rejecting their associated cookies.
